The parishes of Antigua and Barbuda were historically governed by a parish vestry that met in the parish church. These churches still stand today and the capitals of the parishes are as follows: - Saint George: Fitches Creek - Saint John: St. John's - Saint Mary: Old Road - Saint Paul: Falmouth - Saint Peter: Parham - Saint Philip: St. Philip's The centre of the Barbudan government, and Barbudan life in general, has always been Codrington. The parish of Holy Trinity, which cooincides with Barbuda, is also centred around said village.
